7 weeks old

It's incredible the difference a month and a half makes. We (baby and parents) are getting a bit more used to each other and things seem to flow a little more easily now. People try to warn you about how different life will be with a baby but it didn't really sink in until we brought home our little bundle of joy. I think it can be summed up this way--my (this is Steph talking) life no longer revolves around my desires but our daughter's needs. Eating, showering, laundry, dishes, anything social or work related take the back seat. It's a wonderful thing but it's taken some getting used to. On the flip side, there's nothing like seeing Elena gaze at me and smile. Or feeling her little hand grasp onto me. Or listening to her play with her voice and make new sounds. It's worth the work.
